Baylor University Institute for Oral History, practicing professional oral
history since 1970, offers useful oral history instruction through its Workshop on
the Web, including an introduction to the basics of interviewing, tips for collecting
family oral histories, and the Baylor University Transcribing Style Guide.

Georgia Government Documentation Project, GSU Special Collections 

documents the state's political heritage through oral history interviews and
collections of associated papers. The GGDP collection includes more than 250
interviews with former governors, legislators, women in politics, African
American political activists and leaders, journalists, and numerous other public
figures. In addition to the interviews generated by the project, the GGDP actively

Texas Oral History Association, founded in 1982, serves as a network for oral
history practitioners from various settings throughout Texas and surrounding

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Oral History

Veterans History Project. The Veterans History Project relies on volunteers to collect
and preserve stories of wartime service that include World War I (1914-1920), World
War II (1939-1946), Korean War (1950-1955), Vietnam War (1961-1975), Persian Gulf
War (1990-1995) and Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts (2001-present). In addition, those
U.S. citizen civilians who were actively involved in supporting war efforts (such as war
industry workers, USO workers, flight instructors, medical volunteers, etc.) are also
invited to share their valuable stories.
